ALUMIL India Launches Loop 80: 80% Recycled Aluminium

Alumil India Leads in Sustainability with ‘Loop 80’ Certified Aluminium with 80% Recycled Material

Navi Mumbai, November 2024: Alumil India, the fully-owned Indian subsidiary of Alumil Group has introduced Loop 80; a certified aluminium as raw material with 80 per cent recycled material, setting a new global benchmark in sustainability. This follows the success of Loop 60, the company’s first certified recycled aluminium, introduced in 2023. The upgrade results in an 87 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the carbon footprint of primary aluminium production. By reusing existing aluminium and reducing the need for bauxite mining, Alumil is contributing to substantial energy and raw material savings. The ground-breaking innovation is one of the world’s few certified recycled aluminium options for architectural systems globally, including India.

“Our commitment to sustainability drives everything we do. We have achieved an impressive 80 per cent recycled content, in large quantities, which can be made available to high-specification projects seeking international sustainability certifications like LEED and BREEAM. With Loop 80, we are pushing the boundaries of circular economy practices, reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing environmental impact,” says Mr Theodoros Axouristos, Managing Director, Alumil India. Loop 80 also complements Alumil’s participation in the REcycling technologies for circular aluminium (REcAL) project, an initiative to revolutionize aluminium recycling. The company remains at the forefront of green innovation, emphasizing environmental responsibility and energy conservation.
